A Robust Curriculum

Our robust curriculum is built on a low student-to-teacher ratio, and small-group focused learning to help each child reach their potential. The Del Mar Pines School approach to education is anchored in four Core subjects: mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies and supplemented with weekly instruction in valuable Ancillary class.

Our Learning Blocks

Math and language arts include ability-based small-group instruction. Science, social studies, and ancillary classes are taught to the whole-class, to promote shared discovery. Our weekly ancillary programs are taught by specialists and fully integrated throughout the curriculum to expand students’ skills, build confidence, and spark creativity.

Language Arts

A key component in our curriculum is language arts. All students are positioned in small groups where they receive up to 8 hours of language arts instruction each week.

Science

We believe children are natural scientists.  An engaging and robust science education in elementary school is critical in connecting to children’s curiosity and wonder while getting them excited to learn more.

After Care offers families flexible supervision after school. It runs from 2:35–5:15 p.m., with students supervised for play and/or homework.

Fees are $10.00/hour. No prepayment or advance registration is required; attendance is taken promptly at 2:35 p.m.

If unforeseen circumstances prevent pickup by 2:45 p.m., students are automatically enrolled in After Care. When picking up, parents must sign students out on the iPad and notify an After Care teacher.
